AUL Seeking Attorney to Direct Albany, New York Office

Overview: The attorney will direct the Albany, New York office of Americans United for Life and conduct legal and legislative efforts on abortion and other human life issues in Albany. The Albany office will do law and public education on abortion from a women’s health perspective and bring to the public debate the medical and sociological data on the negative impact of abortion on women.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
  • Effective legislative and lobbying experience strongly desired
  • Effective public speaker
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with the media
  • Possess poise, emotional maturity, ability to think strategically, collaborative spirit, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other pro-life organizations in Albany
  • Commitment and ability to conduct lobbying and public education on abortion from a women’s health perspective

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Effectively lobby on abortion issues in Albany
  • Effectively work with the media
  • Give public education presentations relating to law and public policy on abortion and other life issues
  • Effectively work with public education/media specialist to implement public education strategy

Administrative:

  • Effectively coordinate the work of the Albany office with the help of the office manager
  • Manage office personnel, consisting of public education specialist and office manager

Salary: Commensurate with experience and achievements

Reporting: To AUL Vice President

Starting Date: September 15, 2007
