Wednesday, October 15th, 2008Last Friday a district judge heard arguments for Baxter v. State, a Montana lawsuit brought by a terminally ill patient (who did not appear), four physicians, and the physician-assisted suicide advocacy group, Compassion and Choices. California Suicide Law Signed by Schwarzenegger
Wednesday, October 1st, 2008Last night Gov. Schwarzenegger signed AB 2747 into law. This law requires physicians to give patients with treatable illnesses information on suicide, including financial information. There are no guidelines on what or how this information should be given. This law will put financial pressure on poor patients suffering from treatable diseases to commit suicide.
