AUL President discusses Obama’s lift of embryonic stem cell restrictions

by Melanie Johnson on March 30, 2009

AUL President, Charmaine Yoest, was on the G. Gordon Liddy Show on March 10th, the day after President Obama lifted the embryonic stem cell research restrictions of the Bush administration. Liddy and Yoest discuss the ramifications of this action and the slippery slope of stem cell research.

They discuss the reasons why we allow the destruction of embryos as a society and Yoest explains that it “is a question of our humanity, of who we are as a culture. To me, the fact that the media didn’t want to talk about the fact that we crossed this line yesterday of human experimentation…That speaks to something about our culture and our civilization and we like to think of ourselves as being the most advanced civilization ever.”

Liddy and Yoest continue by explaining the benefits of adult stem cell research and the fact that they supersede those of embryonic stem cell research.

The interview concludes with both Yoest and Liddy answering questions from both supporters and those in opposition of embryonic stem cell research.

The entire interview is available at RadioAmerica.org.
