Illinois House Bill 2354, the “Reproductive Health and Access Act,” also known as Illinois’ state FOCA, will not be called for a vote today, the last day the House could have passed the bill. The bill’s proponents, groups such as Planned Parenthood and ACLU, could not find enough votes before tonight’s deadline, which means Illinois will not have a state FOCA, at least for another year.
This bill, which was testified against by AUL’s Senior Counsel, Clarke D. Forsythe in early March, would have crippled the pro-life efforts of hundreds of groups and individuals in Illinois and provided abortion-on-demand without any restrictions whatsoever. This is a great victory for the pro-life movement.

Hopefully other state FOCA’s will not get enough votes.
