With just a few days until Judge Sotomayor faces the Senate Judiciary Committee, Americans United for Life is working both behind the scenes and in the public eye to ensure that pro-life Americans have a voice in the confirmation hearings for the Supreme Court nominee.
Thanks to your support, AUL has a more prominent voice in the hearings than any other group working to defend life. In fact, the Senate Judiciary Committee released the witness list for next week’s hearing on Judge Sotomayor’s nomination, and I am honored to have been invited to testify. This is an important opportunity for us to be taking our legal team’s research on the judge’s pro-abortion record directly before the Senate and the nation.
“The presence of only one pro-life activist on the list is striking.”
The Washington Independent, July 9, 2009

What Would You Ask Sotomayor?
Given Sotomayor’s history of judicial activism and her deep involvement with a radical pro-abortion group, it is imperative that the Senate Judiciary Committee ask questions to bring her judicial philosophy into sharp focus. Our new site AskSotomayor.com has the “Top Ten” questions our legal team recommends senators pose to the nominee and gives you the opportunity to vote on which one you would most like to see asked. We’ve informed the Senate Judiciary Committee about these questions, and we believe they’ll want to know which ones are of the greatest concern to pro-life Americans.

I continue to be Pro-Choice because of the possibility of many varibles that may be endangerous to the fetus or the mom. To use the 24 week gestation date is too much. Issues with the health of the mom or unborn should be available before 6 months.
