Great webcast! Although I had trouble when I tried to get through with my email. I realize now that it was just that so many people were attempting to get through at the same time. I actually kept trying (finally using a link I had saved on my bookmarks). It was on my fifth or sixth attempt that I got through.
The reason I tell you this is to make a point. You had a great turnout – but I believe that you probably had a large number of people who tried to get through but gave up.
Your speakers were knowledgeable. Although from my perspective the only way to stop abortion being part of the health care bill is to entirely stop the legislation.
I have thought for some time that this bill was a Trojan horse for the expansion of abortion. Obviously, it is not the only reason that this administration wants this bill but the expansion of abortion is a real objective for this bill.
I have been following the ins and outs of this bill for a couple of months and many compromises have been put into it – it is like so many things that President Obama does ( so twisted as to not make much sense) but I do believe if it passes by the time it gets out of conference abortion will be in it. (barring a miracle and I do believe in miracles.) This administration and the Democrat party is so beholden to Planned Parenthood etc. that it will be very hard to stop abortion being an real part of this bill.
My point is Yes, we should ask our legislators to exclude abortion from the bill but we should also try to stop this health care sham altogether because that is the most sure way to make sure abortion isn’t turned into a paid for mandate for this nation.
