Open Letter to Planned Parenthood about the Abortion Bailout

by Heather Smith on December 8, 2009

“This health care bill is an abortion business bailout.”  – Charmaine Yoest

On the day that a vote on the Nelson-Hatch-Casey amendment is expected, Americans United for Life’s legislative arm AUL Action published a full-page newspaper ad in one of the top Capitol Hill newspapers The Hill challenging Planned Parenthood to state how much they stand to gain from the passing of health care reform legislation.

Americans United for Life Action President and CEO Charmaine Yoest said, “This Senate health care bill is a bailout for the world’s largest abortion provider, Planned Parenthood. Their lobbying efforts are said to be about empowering women and advancing reproductive health but the bottom line is that Planned Parenthood needs the business.”

Dr. Yoest continued, “AUL Action is fighting to prevent the tragedy of a dramatic increase of abortions in America — funded by American tax dollars.”

Planned Parenthood is the world’s largest abortion provider and has an annual budget in excess of $1 billion and posted an $85 million profit last year.  Planned Parenthood also received $350 million in federal funding in 2007.  The newspaper ad notes a recent Harvard Business case study revealing that despite the “massive public subsidies, Planned Parenthood is struggling financially.”

Very well written letter. I hope people see this and realize the truth it speaks. I would be really interested to know if Cecile Richards has any kind of response.

It is a disgrace the way liberal Democrats are pushing abortion down our throats. As far as I am concerned I will do every effort on my part to have those responsible for voting against the pro-life amendment out of office next election.
Clean Capitol Hill from all the abortion advocates!!

In the womb or out ,life must be protected.Where does it end?Where is the respect for human life?If animals have rights shouldnt the unborn and the elderly?where will it end? Will we start murdering any one who is an inconvience? How can anyone in government expect my tax dollars to fund other peoples disrespect for human life!

We cannot continue to stand by and allow the liberals to continue there cause. We must continue to appose those who want to legalize abortion on demand. If we continue to stand by and do nothing it will be to late to stop the baby killers.

We see all the ads on TV telling us to help prevent cruelty to animals. I am in favor of protecting the animals, but what about the human babies?
It’s okay to kill unborn children in america, but heaven forbid that an animal be hurt!
May God have mercy on our nation, and let us fight for the protection of unborn children! I am amazed how the radical left has taken over our laws while the silent majority remains silent. It’s time to rise up and take our country back before it’s too late!
We can’t let the Godless liberals run our country!

This is a load of crap. Conservatives will use any excuse to deny a women their rights. The fact is women will have abortions whether abortion clinics exist or not. The only problem is that when there are no clinics, the women who try to have an abortion on their own will die. Of course you conservatives wouldn’t mind that and would think they deserve it. Eye for an eye huh?
